From a young age, I’ve been drawn to creating art—capturing the beauty of God’s creation through poetry, painting, and ultimately photography. I’ve always seen the world with a sense of awe, and it became my calling to preserve that beauty in a meaningful way.
With over a decade of experience in the photography industry, I eventually chose to pursue what I felt most passionate about: creating fine art portraits of animals. Today, Willowbark Pet Photography specializes in award-winning dog, pet, and equine photography, transforming fleeting moments into timeless artwork for clients across Southeast Wisconsin and Northern Illinois.

I’ve cultivated a genuine passion for working with animals and connecting with fellow dog lovers. I focus on helping each dog feel at ease while thoughtfully bringing out their unique personality—something I’m confident your pups will experience and appreciate during every visit.
Outside of my work, I enjoy playing drums at my church, spending time outdoors, and sharing life with my wife and three-year-old mini goldendoodle, Bambi.

MY DOG IS BADLY BEHAVED—WILL THAT BE A PROBLEM?
Not at all. We have extensive experience working with dogs of all temperaments, energy levels, and training backgrounds. Your dog does not need to sit perfectly or follow commands—our approach is patient, intuitive, and designed to bring out their natural personality.
MY DOG IS SHY OR ANXIOUS—CAN YOU STILL PHOTOGRAPH THEM?
Absolutely. We take a calm, gentle approach and allow your dog the time and space they need to feel comfortable. Many of our most meaningful images come from these quieter, more sensitive personalities.
WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO SCHEDULE MY DOG’S SESSION?
For outdoor sessions, we photograph during the last 90 minutes of daylight—when golden hour casts its most soft, luminous, and flattering light.
DOES MY DOG NEED TO BE OFF-LEASH?
Not at all. Your dog’s safety and comfort always come first. They can remain on a leash, harness, or collar throughout the session.
WILL THE LEASH, COLLAR, OR HARNESS BE VISIBLE IN THE FINAL ARTWORK?
No. Any leashes, collars, or harnesses are carefully and seamlessly removed during the editing process, leaving you with refined, timeless imagery.
HOW LONG DOES A SESSION LAST?
Sessions are intentionally unhurried. We allow ample time to work at your dog’s pace, ensuring a relaxed experience and exceptional results. All session durations are customized to your vision. On average, each session can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 90 minutes.
